Cairo new capital

Located 45 kilometers east of Cairo, between the Cairo-Suez and Cairo-Ain Sokhna roads, roviding linkages to significant shipping routes. The city is bound to become a focal point of the Eastern Cairo region. a fully-fledged city is rising from the ground. The New Administrative Capital is an ambitious project; its official goal is to offer Egyptians a better quality of life and relieve congestion from Cairo, our ageing capital that's forecasted to reach 40 million inhabitants by 2050. 

On 700 square kilometers total area, it would have a population of almost seven million people.

If everything goes according to plan, the momentous project will be finalized in 12 years, but part of the New Capital is already alive and kicking thanks to AL Masa Capital Hotel and Resort complex, which has been completed in just under 15 months.


The whole city Area is 700 kilometers the same area as Singapore.
The city is planned to consist of Artificial Lakes, administrative area, residential districts, educational institutions, clinics, hospitals, major theme park, 91 kilometers of solar energy farms Foreign embassies, an electric railway link with Cairo, and a new international airport. It will be built as a smart city. It is planned also to transfer the parliament, presidential palaces, 18 ministries and foreign embassies.

Who runs the project?

The New Administrative Capital for Urban Development is the company in charge of developing the project. It is a holding company with a capital estimated by 6 billion pounds. The company consists of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), National Service Products Organization (NSPO) and Armed Forces National Lands Projects Agency. The contracting companies are divided into two sections; the major companies in the executive location and the holding companies for Construction and Development.
The major companies include: Orascom, Hassan Allam, Petrojet, Concord, Talaat Mustafa, Arab Contractors and Wadi El Nile.
The holding companies for construction and development include: Hassan Allam, Misr Concrete Development Co, Al Abd, Mokhtar Ibrahim, EGYCO.

The Arab Contractors Company is set to construct 44 buildings, which include 1,408 units. Concord for Engineering and Contracting Company is currently constructing 61 buildings with a total of 1,792 units. Talaat Moustafa Group Holding Company (TMGH) is carrying out the construction of a total of 69 buildings, which includes 2096 units.
Petrojet Company will build 36 buildings, which includes a total of 1,008 units.
Roads will be developed by Orascom, Arab Contractors, Concord, and the Holding Company for Construction and Development (HCCD).

• The city will have its own financial district, where the central bank and stock exchange will relocate.
Commercial and investment banks will be asked to transfer their headquarters there too.
• There will be at least six international universities from the U.S., Britain, Canada, Sweden, Hungary and France, according to the Ministry of Higher Education.
• The Capital International University (a public university) and the Canadian International College are already under construction.
• A 35-km-long central green belt covering 5,000 acres (2,100 hectares) will wind through the city's centre.
• The city will have fitness trails, a sculpture garden, an outdoor adventure park for mountain biking and rock climbing, a "healing and sensory garden", an "earth garden with canals and fossil trails", bicycle and pedestrian paths, horseback riding trails and waterways for canoeing and  sailing, a "floating forest", meditation gardens, reflection pond, a manmade river and a wetland park.
• There will also be a zoo and wildlife park, an aquarium with a dolphin show area, an arboretum and botanical gardens.
• According to a map, a new amusement park with a 250 metre Ferris wheel is planned. This would eclipse the current highest Ferris wheel, the 168-metre High Roller in Las Vegas.
• The city will also have a sports stadium, sports fields, an amphitheatre, an observatory, a museum of science and technology and an art museum.
• The site for a new opera house is already under preparation.
